Winter started almost a month ago and I could proposed an article with the winter essentials way earlier. However, the cold isn’t gone yet in Europe so a little reminder of the trends can be interesting. As you’ll notice, strong items popped on the catwalks and are actually worn by fashion icons. But among sparkles, fake fur and colored patchworks, winter basics resisted well and you won’t have to change your entire wardrobe to fit with the trends.

This iconic item of a fashion winter is back. The fake fur has been seen a lot on the catwalk of Fendi and many other luxurious brands. It gives a sophisticated look to any outfit, keeps you warm and overdramatic (especially if the coat is oversize).

If you thought fur was a bit too much, I don’t know if you’re gonna like the following huge trend. This season we party only in glitters, sparkles and bright clothes. Time to be the queen of the night!

Back to basics. From puffy jackets to timeless long black coats, you have plenty of clothes to dress easily in winter. The trend is "oversize associated to loungewear sets". Leggings and hoodies seem to be a must have of the wardrobe but if you’re not a huge fan of socks above legging don’t force yourself please.

Still a basic but elevated, the leather is coming really strong this season. It has this advantage to give a stylish and sexy side without doing that much effort. I mean, look at Kourtney with these amazing boots…

Contrary to fur, leather won’t keep the warm, so you can either wear a sweater under or choose a bomber jacket which generally has wool inside. At least, if it’s raining your coat will be dry in 2 seconds (trust me, when you live in France and Netherlands like me, it matters).

Bonus to add in this outfit for a futuristic look (or Matrix, up to you): the Balenciaga ski sunnies.

Finally, let’s add a pop of colours in usual dark outfits. A lot of patchworks have been seen and can be complex to wear, because no one wants to look like a clown. So I advise to just choose one item in your outfit: bottom, top or accessories, and keep the rest black (because it fits with everything). It’s all about having the right balance, so don’t hesitate to pick a green or red coat and match it with a one colour outfit.

And the ultimate bag of the year is from...Prada...

Can't wait for your feedback, J.
